It is so freaking hot and we have had three days in a row of extreme heat and bad air quality here in the New York Hudson Valley, two strikes against any pulmonary sarcoidosis sufferer. To make matters worse, I have a head cold, so my breathing is labored, also taxing my heart.
In the NY metro area is a web site called Clean Air NY (www.cleanairny.org) where you can register your email address and they will email you when the day is considered a bad air quality day.
If you have compromised lungs, it’s a good idea to be in the know if the air quality is bad. If you live in the NY area, check out the site listed above, and if not, do a web search for your area. Most major cities have that service. Also check out the weather channels web site. They should have updated air quality info for your area.
