Joy Of Kids

This Sunday a friend’s kid wanted to spend the night at our place and we said sure. We like her and she is a fun and well behaved kid. I made her favorite meal, then we went out to carvel and then to Blockbuster to rent a movie. We stayed up and watched the movie and she went to sleep when the movie ended. I planned to drop her back to her parent’s for lunch time Monday

At six on Monday morning there was a light knock on our bedroom door, and as I opened the door the little girl said “I’m sick!” then promptly threw up on the floor in front of me. I grabbed her up and took her to the bathroom where she threw up some more.

I don’t have kids, and I never took care of anyone’s sick child, so I was slightly freaking. I took her temp and she was 100.8. After she finished throwing up I put her back to bed and sat next to her until she fell back to sleep.

To make a long story short, she ended up not leaving our house until Tuesday, and I ended up with a cold. I’m on antibiotics and feel like crap.

I love kids, but I am glad we never had any of our own.
