Happy Valentine’s Day

I am not big on celebrating this holiday because I always felt that it is more commercial than anything, a day for wishful women to get that much desired engagement ring, and men are pressured into “showing” their love.

I always felt that a genuine Valentine’s act would happen on any day, a note in your spouse’s lunch or briefcase, a card to say “I love You” on no particular Wednesday, as kiss on the back of the head, “just because”. Those unplanned, genuine from the heart gestures are what I consider to be Valentines.

The one thing I do like about this day though, is although I think it’s commercial, this is one day that the world collectively celebrates Love, that one genuine emotion shared by two people, which is one of the items on my list for healing. The others are Hope and Laughter.

So on this February 14th, with genuine feeling, I wish everyone of my subscribers, Facebook followers and everyone in this world today, a day filled with Love, Happiness and Hope. Happy Valentine’s Day.
