Celebrating 50

It has been a while since my last post and that’s because I was and still am, celebrating life. My life in particular.

I turned 50 last week and rather than spend money on a big party for my friends and family, we (my beautiful wife and I), took that money and went away alone together for a week to Sedona, AZ.

What a glorious way to welcome 50! To be in one of the most beautiful and spiritually uplifting places on the planet. To take a week off from everything – work, school, sarcoidosis – and just be.

I went around for the week without oxygen, without having oxygen to sleep with and my energy level was off the charts. We went hiking to see some ruins and at one point my wife was cracking up as she could not keep up with me.

The desert air at this time of the year was good for me. It invigorated me. But I could never live there. I need to be near the ocean. And island boy needs his beaches.

Now I am back home, revived and so happy to make it to another birthday and amazed by myself. So, happy birthday to me and looking forward to many more years on this planet.
