R Is For Reschedule

This is a Blogging a From A To Z Challenge post

April 21st- R

I am supposed to have my heart catheterization in two weeks, but it turns out that somehow the date wasn't sitting right with me, and I always follow my intuition. I also found out that there is some work stuff that week I can't be away from, and I really don't want anyone to know all of my business. So I rescheduled for next week instead.

Out of curiosity I checked my biorhythm for the original date and it turns out that my physical was going to be at zero! You don't want to do surgery with your physical at zero! So I changed it to a day when my physical was close to 100.

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

  1. What’s a biorhythm? Good on your heart cath. Do they do it at your neck like mine? They use to do it through the groin but never again. It takes too long to recover.

Basically it is the belief that your body goes through a mathematical cycle of change where certain things such as your physical strength, emotions and intuition go through ups and downs. People say it is bull, but it seems to always be correct for me. I dont actively check my chart but when I fell like crap, i am usually physically at the bottom in the biorhythm chart. The last two I had through the groin (last one in ’09), but I was told this time through the neck. How was it for you? I am afraid I might need to cough or clear my throat.

      1. It’s way easier getting the cath through the neck. The only part that hurts for me is the numbing part. After the cath, if you have it done in the neck, you can actually get up and go about you day for most people. I tend to have a very mild sore heart afterwards and need to take it easy for the rest of the day. When I had them through my groin, I would be in bed for 2 or 3 days and very bruised. I’ve had all of my adult Caths done while awake with no IV and no pre-procedure medication. You’re probably a pro at them by now, are you? *wink*

      2. Oh and… You can talk a little during the cath but I try not to interrupt they’re concentration. I don’t like the sterile sheet they put over my head. I always have the make a room for me to get fresh air.

Oh i hate that damned sheet over your head like you’re not even there. Sure it will be fine. I just don’t want to have a “brazillian” done with a dry razor 😀. Don’t know which is worse with the groin cath, the soreness or the itch for days after!
