The other night I was looking on the MAC App Store for a blogging app. I read an article recommending a certain app and I could not find it in the App Store. I googled it and the developer wrote that they were no longer offering the app as “Blogging is so 2006”.
I wondered how true those words were, as in the five years I am blogging, I am finding less and less blogs that stay consistent. Is it that people are now mostly just expressing everything on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. Is it that blogging has Realistically now become a sparse few words just expressed to your inner social media circle?
I for one noticed that I had a sharp drop in readers, but I attributed that to the fact that my format had changed, and I knew that I would lose a lot of readers.
I do wonder just how significant blogging is anymore. I write my blog for me as a way to vent most of the time, but if I were doing this to gather a following, I surely would have stopped by now. More and more I do contemplate just throwing in the old blog towel.
How do you feel, you one or two people that visit this blog? Do you think that blogging has seen its time?
Blogs are certainly not dead. Earlier the blogs were mostly about instant reactions and prompt photos but now bloggers reserve those things for twitter/instagram and preserves better researched and in-depth post for the blogs. However the attention span is ever decreasing but i believe that blogs are here to stay.

I guess blogs are now off the highway and on a parkway. There will probably always be bloggers and readers of blogs but probably no where near what it used to be.

I think I am beginning to realize that blogging is really now for mature, serious people, and the people that read them are also that way. It’s the young ones, and those with smooth brains that can either only assimilate or think in 140 characters at a time. Am I being elitist? 😀
