These are the medications that I take daily. Quite an “achievement” for someone who never even liked to take Tylenol.

Eplerenone 12.5 mg x 1 tab per day – Treats high blood pressure. Also treats congestive heart failure (CHF)
Lasix 20mg x 1 tab per day – Lasix is a loop diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, allowing the salt to instead be passed in your urine. Lasix treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disorder such as nephrotic syndrome. This medication is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Metoprolol 100mg x 1 tab per day – I was switched to this drug in late 2019 after Coreg seemed to stop working for me and I was getting accelerated heart rates. I started at 200mg but I was drowsy all day so my doctor cut back to 100 mg was seems to be just fine now.is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Metoprolol is also used to lower your risk of death or needing to be hospitalized for heart failure.
Prednisone 10mg x1 tab per day – Prednisone is in a class of drugs called corticosteroids. Prednisone prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Prednisone is used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.
Losartan 50mg x1tab per day: Losartan (Cozaar) belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
Eliquis 5mg 1 tab 2x per day – Eliquisis used to prevent serious blood clots from forming due to a certain irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) or after hip/knee replacement surgery. With atrial fibrillation, part of the heart does not beat the way it should. This can lead to blood clots forming, which can travel to other parts of your body (such as the lungs or legs) or increase your risk for stroke. In the United States, apixaban is also approved to treat certain types of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis–DVT, pulmonary embolus-PE) and to prevent them from forming again.

Coreg 25mg x 1 tab twice per day – Stopped taking this drug in late 2019 after it just was not working for me anymore. I started to develop fibs so my medicine was switched to Metoprolol
Flovent Oral Inhaler, 3 puffs, twice a day – I stopped taking this because it wasn’t doing anything for me.
Plavix 75mg x1 – Drug was stopped when it was confirmed that my PFO closure had indeed taken effect and was no longer leaking. Replaced by Aspirin
Tracleer 125mg x2 – This drug was stopped after having a right heart catheterization that showed no presence of pulmonary hypertension anymore.Tracleer is indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (WHO Group I) in patients with WHO Class II – IV symptoms, to improve exercise ability and decrease the rate of clinical worsening
Lanoxin 0.25mg x1 – This drug was stopped as my heart function improved to normal. Lanoxin is derived from the leaves of a digitalis plant. It helps make the heart beat stronger and with a more regular rhythm. Lanoxin is used to treat congestive heart failure. Lanoxin is also used to slow the heart rate in patients with chronic atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder of the atria (the upper chambers of the heart that allow blood to flow into the heart).
Spiriva Tiotropium This drug was stopped as I began to experience the side effect of restricted urination – is used to control and prevent symptoms (such as wheezing, shortness of breath) caused by ongoing lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD which includes bronchitis and emphysema). It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily. Tiotropium belongs to a class of drugs known as anticholinergics.
Pulmicort Flexhaler 90mcg- This Drug was stopped after two weeks due to side effects of hoarseness and phlegm in throat
Lovaza x4 – I stopped taking this because it apparently raised my cholesterol levels!
Hydroxychloroquine 200mg x2 – **TAKEN OFF THIS MEDICATION 4/28/12 DUE TO DROP IN WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT** Other wise known as Plaquenil. PLAQUENIL is indicated for the suppressive treatment and treatment of acute attacks of malaria due to Plasmodium vivax, P. malariae, P. ovale, and susceptible strains of P. falciparum. It is also indicated for the treatment of discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Diovan 160mg x1 – Aetna would no longer pay for this med so was replaced with Losartan Diovan is a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and valsartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Valsartan is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure improves blood flow.The combination of hydrochlorothiazide and valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Spirinolactone 12.5mg x1 – Taken off this medication because I started to develop “man boobs” Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from getting too low. Spironolactone is used to diagnose or treat a condition in which you have too much aldosterone in your body. Aldosterone is a hormone produced by your adrenal glands to help regulate the salt and water balance in your body. Spironolactone also treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or a kidney disorder called nephrotic syndrome. Spironolactone is also used to treat or prevent hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood).
Diltiazem – Used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). this was a temporary drug used when my defibrillator was sending erroneous reports of fibrillation episodes, when in fact it was misreading my heart beating stronger
